Dana Point, CA – Legendary shaper and surfing icon Terry Martin, who recently ended his battle with cancer and passed peacefully on Saturday May 12th, will be honored with a silent and LIVE auction and benefit at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point on May 20th from 5 to 9PM. The Sport of Kings Foundation, a 501 C 3 non-profit started by a grassroots group of surfers, has organized a unique fundraising event which is bringing the entire surf community together in the efforts to help one of surfing’s most beloved individuals.
“We want to help this icon of surfing in his time of need.” says Mike Muir, an industry veteran who spearheaded the project.
Titled Terry Martin: A Body of Work from Wood to Foam, the most recent shapes of some 80,000 surfboards Terry produced over his long and illustrious career will be part of a rare silent and live auction held between 5 and 9PM.
