Bing Surfboards is a surfboard manufacturer and retail seller of high quality, made in CA surfboards and soft goods within the action sports industry. Bing was originally established in 1959 by Bing Copeland and has a large influence, history, and participation within the surf industry. Our factory is located on the historic “The Hill” in Encinitas, CA and the retail store is 2 miles away on Coast Hwy 101 in Leucadia. 

We are seeking a self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented E-commerce Sales Manager to maintain the backend e-commerce system (Shopify), load and update web product offering, manage accurate inventory counts, manage fulfillment and customer service, and analyze web sales.

  • Work as a member of the Bing retail team to reach cumulative retail sales goals
  • Meet on a weekly basis with Marketing Manager to execute product rollouts, web marketing campaigns and to ensure bingsurf.com achieves marketing goals

  • Maintain bingsurf.com web theme, layout, navigation and user experience
  • E-commerce
  • Shoot and process Bing product images
  • Acquire product Images from non-Bing brands
  • Size and upload product images in Shopify
  • Maintain Shopify e-commerce backend
  • Understand Lightspeed Retail POS and inventory management
  • Create unique product descriptions for brand and Bing gear
  • Manage product inventory in store and at the factory
  • Monitor Lightspeed purchase orders for product rollouts
  • Analyze and create sales reports monthly
  • Manage web order fulfillment
  • Manage and track web sales, including answering customer questions and facilitating shipping from the factory
  • Transfer product to/from store/factory as needed for fulfillment
  • Oversee retail staff on packing and shipping web orders
  • Work with factory ops manager on shipping surfboard orders
  • Order packing and shipping materials
  • Manage customer service
  • Manage shipping and returns



  • Minimum 3 years experience with Shopify or similar E-Commerce platform, Lightspeed Retail / Inventory Management or similar retail POS software
  • Minimum 3 years experience with Shopify (or similar platform) development and a background in basic web skills ( HTML, CSS, Javascript ) preferred
  • Experience shooting product and processing images for web sales
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with online customers
  • Strong team communication with enthusiasm to reach sales goals in a collaborative environment
  • Professional skills with Adobe Creative Suite emphasis Photoshop
  • Proficient understanding of Ship Station / USPS Shipping Pricing Based on Packaging / Weight / Dimensions
  • Proficient skills with of MS Office Suite, specifically Office, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must provide previous employment references

This position will range from 20-40 hours weekly.  Compensation and employment status (contractor or employee) will be reviewed based on each candidate’s qualifications and experience.
