Mele Saili // Pacific Beach, California
Mele Saili (pronounced Melly) grew up in Pacific Beach with deep roots in San Diego surfing history (Granddaughter of Larry Gordon of G&S surfboards). She began surfing at age 13 and entered her first contest less than a year after and placed 3rd over all.
Over the years Mele has been able to experience many different countries through surfing. Through her travels she has met incredible people which has led to Mele gaining great sponsors like Seea, TCSS, Ines Susaeta and Bing Surfboards.
This past year alone Mele had the opportunity to travel to Fiji then Australia for the Noosa Surfing Festival for the first time and placed 2nd and 3rd in two different women’s divisions. Shortly after Mele had the honor of competing in the Deus 9ft & Single invite only contest in Bali, getting a solid 3rd with Leah Dawson 1st and Kassia Meador 2nd.
When Mele is home from travels she works in Encinitas at the Bing Surf Shop. She also creates and sells her Artwork which consist of primarily acrylic paintings on wood & canvas as well as charcoal and ink drawings.
