Well winter is here for the Northern hemisphere and Christmas is in the near future made official by pumpkin something being offered at every eatery and coffee shop from here to NY. Although Bing Surfboards doesn’t make anything specifically pumpkin we do carry a nice supply of winter goods that will make the cold weather that much more comfortable for you or a loved one. If you didn’t know the Bing Surfboards Surf Shop has a supply of flannels, hoodies, beanies, bags, socks, etc. (including 70 surfboards on the floor) to keep you warm in between the cold surf sessions. What would you do if you were gifted an almost pristine 1970s Bing single fin? Would you keep it for yourself? Most probably would. Encinitas local Mario Ordoñez-Calderón saw it as an opportunity to give back to his community. Mario approached Bing Surfboards about raffling off the gorgeous 7’4” single fin to raise money for his local non-profit, Un Mar De Colores, and we gladly accepted. We’ll be holding 14 day raffle for this original Bing surfboard with a live drawing for the winner on July 17th. All proceeds will go to Un Mar De Colores.

Rest In Peace: Greg 'Da Bull' Noll

We met in 1949 hanging on the rail of the Manhattan Beach pier watching Velzy and the older guys surfing planks and paddle boards on the waves below.  That was our introduction to  surfing, and the surfer life, that consumed us both for the next seventy plus years.  Even though we were competitors in the surfboard business we’ve always remained close friends and best buddies. Eric Diamond, or "E.D.", as most of us know him, has deep roots that started back when his father, Daryl Diamond, drove the Clark Foam delivery truck with Eric riding shotgun. 

Fast forward to today, Eric did a couple of designs for us here at Bing; "Waves of Change" and "Planer". They obviously reflect his passion for the transitional period. We are thrilled to have him as a Bing Ambassador / Artist and are proud to present his work for your enjoyment.
