GYBSD and JFSSD Receive Bing Donations

January 20, 2015

gybsd.org food donation
Bing Surfboards Recently visited Ceci and Bill at Got Your Back San Diego (www.gybsd.org) to deliver the food collections we received at the Bing Surfboards Surf Shop. Over the holidays our customers, family and friends help bring in a healthy sum of breakfast items for under privileged kids in Oceanside. The work Ceci, Bill and Susan do for our local community is invaluable. They pack over 200 backpacks per week to make sure children have food to eat during each weekend when they are away from school and the lunch programs. If you want to get involved or learn more visit their website at www.gybsd.org. It’s a great local cause. If you want to donate feel free to drop items off at our Bing Surfboards Surf Shop.

We also were happy to deliver a box of toys to the Jewish Family Service of San Diego (www.jfssd.org). They helped to make sure that kids of refugee families in San Diego didn’t go without receiving gifts from Santa. It’s great to see small things help to bring a smile to kids faces. Thank you to all of you who donated to help make this possible.

Bing Surfboards will continue to work with these great charities and we hope you can help out through the year and not just during the holidays. Every bit helps. Best wishes for a great 2015.

The parks actually produce waves that rival the quality of your local home break. The feedback from each family member can help you know what Bing to ride at a wave park near you.

Interview with Mario Ordoñez-Calderón of 'Un Mar De Colores'

July 02, 2021

What would you do if you were gifted an almost pristine 1970s Bing single fin? Would you keep it for yourself? Most probably would. Encinitas local Mario Ordoñez-Calderón saw it as an opportunity to give back to his community. Mario approached Bing Surfboards about raffling off the gorgeous 7’4” single fin to raise money for his local non-profit, Un Mar De Colores, and we gladly accepted. We’ll be holding 14 day raffle for this original Bing surfboard with a live drawing for the winner on July 17th. All proceeds will go to Un Mar De Colores.

Rest In Peace: Greg 'Da Bull' Noll
Rest In Peace: Greg 'Da Bull' Noll

June 29, 2021

We met in 1949 hanging on the rail of the Manhattan Beach pier watching Velzy and the older guys surfing planks and paddle boards on the waves below.  That was our introduction to  surfing, and the surfer life, that consumed us both for the next seventy plus years.  Even though we were competitors in the surfboard business we’ve always remained close friends and best buddies. Rest In Peace Greg, you’ll be missed. - Bing Copeland
