A month or so ago, we received an email from Petter & Linn, a young Swedish photographer/journalist couple who said they were planning to travel through New York, California and Central America in search of inspirational stories and individuals to feature on their lifestyle/travel/surf blog, www.sunshinestories.com.
It seemed easy enough to give them a tour of the factory and tell them a little bit about our lives, Bing Surfboards, maybe even take them for a quick surf. But after perusing their blog, there was just something about this fascinating young Swede couple that prompted us to invite them into our home and show them a real taste of our lives in Encinitas, California…from an epic California logging session at SanO, to realizing their fantasy of drinking out of “red plastic party cups” at a Wegener New Year’s Eve bash and eating In-n-Out burgers, I think that Petter & Linn not only found their inspiration but also fulfilled their California dreams. Josh Peterson, hometown Virginia Beach (born) Haleiwa (currently living), and my brand is Peterson Surfcraft.
When and where did you start surfing? Describe your first surfboard.
I started surfing when I was about 15 in Virginia Beach, and my first board was an old funboard from WRV that was about 7’6” and had glass on thrusters and an insane airbrush.
