The Narwhal
Here at Bing Surfboards we never shy away from a custom order, in fact, custom orders make up a good chunk of what we do around here and we embrace them with open arms. Every once in a while a really unique order comes through the factory that is unlike any other. I remember seeing this particular order when it was first submitted and having to google what a narwhal was (I’ll save you the time … the narwhal, or narwhale, is a medium-sized toothed whale that possesses a large “tusk” from a protruding canine tooth. It lives year-round in the Arctic waters around Greenland, Canada, and Russia.). Well it’s seldom that we get to see where these special custom orders end up, but today in our email inbox we got the best letter from Meghan, the proud owner of The Narwhal. She said,
“Wow! I am so stoked! My board is amazing! I want to send a big thank you to everyone at Bing who helped make this board, you nailed it. It is a beauty in every way. The design and colors are perfect. Took it out for it’s first sesh on Sunday and it was so fun. The glide is amazing, I felt like I was flying paddling this baby. We caught some really fun waves together even in some not great conditions. I can tell I’m gonna have loads of fun with it. I love this board. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I wish I could give you all a big hug!”
This makes our day. We are so stoked for you Meghan! We hope you have many years of wave riding on that majestic Narwhal.

When and where did you start surfing? Describe your first surfboard.
I started surfing when I was about 15 in Virginia Beach, and my first board was an old funboard from WRV that was about 7’6” and had glass on thrusters and an insane airbrush.
