Web Data Manager 

 

Bing Surfboards is a surfboard manufacturer and retail seller of high quality, made in CA surfboards and soft goods within the action sports industry. Bing was originally established in 1959 by Bing Copeland and has a large influence, history and participation within the surf industry. Our factory is located on the historic “The Hill” in Encinitas, CA and the retail store is 2 miles away on Coast Hwy 101 in Leucadia.

 

We are seeking a self-motivated, highly-organized, detail-oriented Web Data Manager to maintain the backend e-commerce system (Shopify), load and update web product offering, manage accurate inventory counts, and edit product images.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration
  • Work as a member of the Bing retail team to reach cumulative retail sales goals
  • Meet on a weekly basis with Retail/Web Sales Manager and Marketing Manager to execute product rollouts, web marketing campaigns and to ensure bingsurf.com achieves sales goals
  • Web
  • Maintain bingsurf.com navigation, update featured surfboards and product on homepage. Maintain collection pages based on category, popularity, newest to oldest, etc.
  • Ecommerce
  • Process surfboard images
  • Acquire product Images from non-Bing brands
  • Size and upload product images in LightSpeed
  • Validate product transfers from LightSpeed to Shopify are accurate
  • Review vendor invoices to ensure all new product is online
  • Maintain Shopify e-commerce backend
  • Review and correct discrepancies in LightSpeed and Shopify
  • Create unique product descriptions for brand and Bing gear
  • Monitor Lightspeed purchase orders for product rollouts
  • Support new merch designs, product, and campaigns with Bing Management

 

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience with Shopify or similar E-Commerce platform, Lightspeed Retail / Inventory Management or similar retail POS software
  • Minimum 3 years experience with Shopify (or similar platform) development and a background in basic web skills ( HTML, CSS, Javascript ) preferred
  • Experience shooting product and processing images for web sales
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with online customers
  • Strong team communication with enthusiasm to reach sales goals in a collaborative environment
  • Professional skills with Adobe Creative Suite emphasis Photoshop
  • Proficient understanding of Ship Station / USPS Shipping Pricing Based on Packaging / Weight / Dimensions
  • Proficient skills with of MS Office Suite, specifically Office, Excel and Outlook
  • Must provide previous employment references

 

This contractor position will range from 20-25 hours weekly.

I started surfing when I was about 15 in Virginia Beach, and my first board was an old funboard from WRV that was about 7’6” and had glass on thrusters and an insane airbrush.

At the beginning, it was just an idea, but at the same time, a challenge I had set for myself some time ago. Honestly, I saw it as complicated since it was my first time traveling alone to Europe, and I was curious and nervous because I was literally going to another country. The only thing that reassured me was being able to speak Spanish over there. But, of course, none of this would have been possible without the support of the entire BAPU beachware team who encouraged me and gave me the motivation not to doubt myself and make this a fulfilled goal, we organized various activities while presenting the short film "El Gordo" to raise funds for this trip.
