22908 6'10" JET FISH

$935.00 USD

Named the Dart not only because it resembles the body of a dart, but also for its step-up speed and accuracy, this model was designed to be a medium to bigger wave board. My main goal, like most of my short board designs, was to maintain ease of paddling and early wave-entry. The fish and Simmons style boards have made surfing fun again by allowing surfers to go faster than we have ever gone and catch more waves. The Dart is the link between the short board and the fish. The front of the board is a refined fish nose with the wide point forward, added rocker, a relaxed beak nose to hold thickness further forward, and a fuller rail throughout. The tail is all short board at 14 ½" with a round pin or swallow to keep turns smooth yet powerful, which allows you to push harder off the top or bottom turn as hard as you want. The board slightly resembles the mini guns of the early 70s, but with a modern hull. The nose has a slight roll in the entry to break-up disruptive water, enabling water to enter the single concave smooth and travel through the a double concave for control. The result is my most performance yet effortless board designed to-date. - Matt Calvani.

We are proud to announce the latest addition to the Bing Fish family, “The Jet Fish”.

The Jet Fish is offered in the 6’2” to 7’6” range and can be thought of as a step-up shortboard to midrange Fish. We start with a midrange rocker similar to our Slalom model but with added kick, or lift, in the nose area, for a “shortboard influenced” nose. This is a wide point forward outline with a pulled in narrow swallowtail, which allows for an increased rail line to provide solid drive with maneuverability. Having the wide point forward makes for great paddling and wave catching ability. The slight roll in the nose combined with the narrow tail and the double concave Vee bottom makes the board extremely responsive and helps it to go rail to rail easily and allows for the Jet Fish to perform in a wide range of wave sizes and conditions.

The key factor to the success of the Jet Fish is the Fins. Matt design a set of fins that are unique with an accentuated rake that adds drive, speed, and makes the board feel like it has an elongated rail line, yet the narrow base of the fin provides maneuverability and loose free top turns.

The response to the Jet Fish by the Bing Team and family of riders has been nothing short of outstanding, we are confident this design will not just meet but exceed your expectations.
