25039 9'6" DERRINGER PIN

$1,975.00 USD

When Miguel came to me wanting to make a pintail version of the Derringer I was stoked, having ridden pintail noseriders in the past and realizing how well they work with the correct design elements. Adding more tail rocker to make up for the lack of surface area was key, while also dropping the nose rocker slightly to balance it out. Miguel wanted more foam, so we went thicker and wider than the original Derringer. Overall I'm very pleased with how it came out and watching Miguel ride it is proof that this design works!

This variation of the Derringer has the same forward drive and effortless noseride, but the pintail influences how it feels in the pocket. The wider pintail solves the classic pintail problem: you get the control and hold of a pin, but enough surface area to stay loose and connected in smaller, slower surf where a traditional pintail would have you digging a rail. The result is a board that noserides, drives, and turns well in all types of surf.
