Picture the Bing Retail Shop in Hermosa Beach in 1962, the ceiling was too low to stand most boards upright so Bing used wooden racks that he could roll in front of the window to create a display seen from the street. Bing spent a good part of each day taking beautiful new Bings “off the rack” to show to various customers. Brian Bent’s Mom, a close neighbor, was in and out of this showroom during those days and easily could have been one of those customers asking Bing to take one of the bright shiny new Bings “off the rack”. Brian chose a classic photo of Bing doing just that to take us back to those classic South Bay days.
