JESSE HINKLE

Jesse was introduced to surfing at age one when his dad put him on the nose of his 10′ longboard. With his Dad encouraging him, Jesse began surfing on his own at age six, and competing at age 12. His hometown is El Segundo, CA, but you can catch him hanging in his panel van at Malibu on any south swell. Jesse has been coined “The International Surf Man of Mystery” by Drop Zone Magazine as he is a humble, quiet, bohemian kind of guy who embraces a simple lifestyle, and loves to travel and explore new cultures. He’s spent so much time in Australia that it’s almost a second home to him, and his favorite place in the world to surf is Noosa Heads. His surfing adventures and competitions have also taken him to Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Bali.

Jesse rides for Bing Surfboards and Hippie Tree Clothing, and is an active member of the Malibu Surf Association. He has been very fortunate to have a deep quiver of Bing surfboards through the years allowing him to explore different angles of surfing. He loves to ride boards all shapes and sizes as some of his favorite boards have been a 9’10” Elevator, 5’2″ Puck and a 4’6″ Speed Square.

Being educated through the Waldorf School system has nurtured the artistic and musical sides of Jesse, and he is an accomplished artist and photographer. His surf photography has landed numerous photos in the longboarding magazine, “Foam Symmetry,” including a double page centerfold. Some of Jesse’s original artwork can be found splashed across a few of his surfboards, creating some one-of-a-kind pieces.
